Fun games unite Ottawa teams

by Andrea Hill | October 3rd, 2011

Two Ottawa teams got some playing experience this weekend despite blustery weather.

Carleton University and University of Ottawa faced off at Carleton for a series of four fun matches Oct. 1. The first match, played by the schools’ competitive teams, went to Carleton with a score of 60-50. It was a nail-biter of a game that ended with uOttawa snatching the morph-suit clad snitch 30 minutes into play.

Subsequent games gave new players a chance to try out new positions and refereeing duties. They also presented Carleton snitches with an opportunity to cause as much ruckus as possible — much to the chagrin of players on both teams who found themselves blasted with supersoakers in the final game.

Both Carleton and uOttawa picked up a couple of wins before teams traded players for some mixed-team scrimmages. Players from both teams hope to face off again before the Canadian Cup, which is happening at Carleton at the end of October.
