UMass hosts 2nd annual Lily and James Potter Memorial Tournament

by Kristina Moy | October 9th, 2011

Thirty years ago this Halloween, the wizarding world was changed forever. Lily and James Potter gave their lives to protect their only child, Harry, from He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named. While Harry lives, so does the memory of their sacrifices.

To honour them, UMass Quidditch will be hosting their annual Halloween tournament, the second-annual Lily and James Potter Memorial Tournament on Oct. 22 from 1-4 p.m. on the Metawampe Lawn. To date, UMass Amherst, Westfield State and Stony Brook have confirmed attendance. Teams that are interested in registering can still do so, but make sure you hurry!  To register or find more info about the event, please email umassquidditch@gmail.com.

Admission is free and attendees can expect to enjoy wizarding delights such as Butterbeer, Witches’ Hats and Dragon Eggs while watching the games. A Chinese raffle will also be there to give people a chance to win some great prizes.
