Dang, I’ve seen that Uhigh team practice recently and they seem like they may be a surprise this tournament. Wouldn’t be surprised if they’re in the top half of the seeding after pool play.

How did you decide what places these teams came in? Do you mean A&M tied for 3rd and LSU tied for 5th? I’m not saying they aren’t good teams, but I don’t think you can make the assumption that they were really the 3rd and 5th best teams. UT is a good team too, but saying that they finished 9th at the World Cup when they were eliminated in the round of 16 is a bit deceiving. I know you want to hype up the tournament, and maybe those teams were technically tied for 3rd, 5th, and 9th, but still.

UT destroyed everyone in pool play, becoming the #1 ranked team in the brackets. In their pool was both Marquette and Ives Pond (two very good teams). UT lost to A&M in the ro16, and A&M lost to Middlebury in the ro4. Meeting a quality team earlier or later in a bracket doesn’t make you a worse team. If anything, their ranking of 9 is too low. And considering how much you worship Middlebury, Texas A&M losing to them by a snitch catch should prove what a quality team they really are.
In the future, do some research before disrespecting our region.
Thanks,
Jason

I’m not saying that just because you meet a quality early in the bracket you aren’t a good team, but I’m just saying that you could make an argument that any other team eliminated in the same round as Texas A&M, LSU, or Texas finished 3rd, 5th, or 9th respectively. The only person who presented concrete evidence that they were the 3rd, 5th, and 9th best teams was Alex, who posted a link to the rankings. I didn’t realize that they had released rankings from the World Cup, so I’m sorry that I made the assumption that they didn’t, but I think you jumping to the conclusion that I am disrespecting your region is a bit presumptuous; all I was doing was raising a point. I’m also not sure why you think that I worship Middlebury. I’m just as glad as everyone else that there are teams outside the northeast that are competitive and have a shot at the World Cup. Clearly, Midd wasn’t the best team this year, but just like in the NCAA basketball tournament, the best team doesn’t always win.
In the future, don’t overreact to me questioning a rankings system that I didn’t see any concrete basis for at the time.

The rankings are based on wins and then points differential for tie-breakers.

I think UT is well deserving of the #9 ranking. They had the highest point total after day one. They also only lost to TAMU by 10 points because a snitch grab (if I remember correctly). Of course, I am biased.
Texas Deluminators is UT’s JV team (in case anyone was wondering).
I’m also excited about this All-Star game. I haven’t heard much about it.

I have watched the semi-final matchups, multiple times actually. I’m not sure if you watched them but LSU didn’t actually make the semi-finals…
