We are a new team that started up in the Fall of 2011 with only 5 members. Since then we have improved our numbers to 27 and have become an official club sport at CMU. Even though we are young we are a group of fighters and will refuse to ever give up! We are the Central Centaurs!

The First Annual Great Lakes Conference Tournament

This past weekend the Central Centaurs attended the First Annual Great Lakes Conference Tournament hosted by Purdue Quidditch in West Lafayette, IN. It was an 8 team tournament that used a swiss style bracket play. In the first game CMU was paired against Bowling Green and after a close game the Centaurs snatched the snitch and took home the win 110-70. The second match was against the Illinois State Firebirds. Thanks to a hot start the Centaurs were able to get the victory 120-70 despite a snitch snatch by the Firebirds. In the championship game CMU took on a familiar foe in Michigan State University. CMU started off fast but eventually MSU pulled away and grabbed the snitch for a 170-80 victory. Overall it was a great day for CMU quidditch earning 2nd place along with the Spirit award for the tournament. Thank you to everyone for all of the support and we look forward to making an even stronger showing at Midwest Cup in a couple weeks!
2nd Annual Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore Memorial Tournament!

This past weekend we played in the 2nd Annual Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore Memorial Tournament held at IUSB. It was our first tournament of the year and we were extremely excited and ready to get on the pitch. We won our first match against Loyola 60-50 with Loyola catching the snitch. We lost our second match to Marquette 80-40 with Marquette getting the snitch snatch. Our third match was a 160-30 win over Miami (OH) with us grabbing the snitch. Overall we finished in 6th place out of 14 teams with our 2-1 record. We had a great time and look forward to getting back on the pitch in a few weeks at the Great Lakes Conference Tournament.
