The Illinois State Firebirds were established in fall of 2010 by Shayla Johnson and Luke Brictson. They started
with only a handful of members but have grown rapidly to 67 members in their second year. The Firebirds have traveled to several tournaments throughout the midwest, including hosting a small series of games at Illinois State University with Elmhurst College and Eastern IL University. The 2011 World Cup is their first World Cup and the team looks forward to attending many more. The ISU Firebirds hope to represent their home state of Illinois with pride, being the only team from IL to attend the World Cup this year. Along with the other teams from the midwest region, the Firebirds hope to defend the title for our region of "Midwest is the Best"!
