The New York Badassilisks are New York City's community Quidditch team. The team consists of players of all ages, from 16 to... well past college age... who are united in the spirit of having fun and playing highest quality Quidditch.
The Badassilisks participated in the 2010 World Cup, exactly 2 months after forming the team, and won 2 out of 3 Saturday matches, and all their Sunday scrimmages, with Seeker Bob catching the snitch in every match they played.
In the year since, the team has only grown in skill and desire, and we cannot wait to return to the pitch for the 2011 World Cup!

World Cup V
11/18/2011
The New York Badassilisks had a fantastic time at the World Cup! First and foremost we had a tremendous amount of fun, both playing and interacting with the teams from across the country.
Special thanks go out to our opponents: Hendrix, Carnegie Mellon, R.I.T., Ryerson, SUNY Freedonia, and Purdue- you all showed great sportsmanship and were awesome to play.
Also, thanks to Vassar and Yale, for lending us lots of support, and for coming to our matches! We Quove all of you!
Especially thanks to the home crowd, who rooted us on relentlessly and to "Liskie" (Carol) our Bassilisk mascot, and to the "Fangleaders" (Nancy, Lis, and Jenn) and all the TGTSBN members and others from the city who rooted us on!
We went 4-0 in pool play, were seeded 4th in the D2 tourney, won our first every single elimination match, and lost a tough game in the semi-finals (to the eventual champs, Purdue)!
All in all, it was a great time. Thank you IQA, thank you to all the teams, thanks to all the players who gave their all. And thanks to the fans!
Badassilisks split into two teams for a wild weekend at Philadelphia Brotherly Love Cup and New York Comic Con
10/19/2011
This past Saturday the Badassilisks played 5 matches in 2 cities, competing both at Chestnut Hill's Brotherly Love Cup and in a demo game at New York Comic Con.
We also had several players help staff the IQA's table at ComicCon (along with NYU, StonyBrook, The Group that Shall Not Be Named, and The Benepe himself!) All in all, we promoted Quidditch all over, winning lots of new fans, including the Star Wars fan group "The Madnolorians" who took up the Brooms in a demo match as well!
Our Comic Con team played NYU in two close, bruising matches, while our Philly team played SUNY Genesco, Stony Brook, and Vassar in the first experience at "game speed" for most of the team. All in all, it was an exceptional weekend and we cannot wait to return to the pitch!
Oct 2nd, 11:30am: New York Badassilisks vs. Jetpack Ninja Dinosaurs at Ft. Tryon Renn Faire
09/30/2011
The Badassilisks take on fellow community team, and budding rival, the Jetpack Ninja Dinosaurs in a short match to kick off the 2011 season at New York's Ft. Tryon park. The Jetpacks and Badassilisks face each other after having teamed up over the summer to take on NYU in an exhibition match at the IQA ref training. Now all bets are off as the two squads look to establish dominance and to see which will prove to be the top community team in the college dominated sport of Qudditch.
NYU and Stony Brook will also play a short match at the same time.
