Southwestern Oklahoma State University(SWOSU) has joined the craze of muggle quidditch. SWOSU Quidditch is dedicated in enforcing the 3 goals set by the IQA, that of community, creativity, and competition. Founded in the Fall of 2011, SWOSU Quidditch has proven to be one of the great teams in Oklahoma. With wins over OCU, UCO, OSU, OBU, Jenks HS, and Purcell. SWOSU is looking to expand their competitive horizon to include out-of-state games in Texas this coming March. Our practices are typically held on Tuesday nights. While we encourage anyone to come to our practices, the SWOSU Quidditch team has a core body of players that show up every time, no matter what the weather, and this is the small group of people we include in our competitive team.

Some ways the SWOSU Quidditch Team raises money for charity and the community is by holding bake sales in our Student Union, where students can pick up some treats between classes or after lunch with a small(and sometimes large) donation for the club. We also sell t-shirts to help support the club and its travels as we compete against other quidditch teams. SWOSU Quidditch gives back to the community this semester by creating a Relay for Life team in hopes of raising money and awareness for cancer. We hope to hold a charity game in which players will ask for donations per goal SWOSU scores. SWOSU Quidditch would appreciate any ideas that may help us give back more to the community.
