St. Lawrence University

St. Lawrence Quidditch was founded in fall 2009 by Mikayla Menard and Derek King. Within weeks of the team's forming, they competed in the Third World Cup held at Middlebury College. This was a valuable learning experience for the team, which, though winless in the first tournament, came away as veterans of the game.

In 2010 the club nearly tripled in size, allowing for the first ever St. Lawrence Cup, with 4 teams competing to represent SLU at the Fourth Would Cup held in New York City. The top two teams, as well as the captains from the other two, traveled to New York in November to hopefully have a better showing than the year before.

Immediately a dramatic change was apparent, as SLU outperformed Ringling College, Yale, and the University of Richmond to a #6 ranking and a first round bye in day two. Unfortunately due to obligations back at St. Lawrence, half the team was forced to leave prior to our matchup against #11 Vassar, and with only 9 players, our Championship aspirations ended.
