Undergraduate Quidditch at Yale was founded in the fall semester of 2009. Marty Keil, using a Facebook group created by past Yale Quidditch enthusiasts contacted the founding members of the team to schedule a meeting in the Saybrook College common room.
It was shortly after this initial meeting that the fearless founders were out on Cross Campus organizing their first scrimmage. Creating makeshift hoops and sporting their own brooms, the team set up on Cross Campus and the magic began.
Yale Quidditch appeared in their first world cup in 2010 making it one round into the bracket on the second day of play to join the 16 farthest teams in the tournament.
