Quidditch began at VCU in 2008 with 6 members (not even enough people to play a proper match). Under the leadership of founding President and Captain Britni Puccio, interest in the magical sport thrived on campus. The club has now grown to encompass more than 40 players at both competitive and intramural levels.

The team has participated in three World Cups. First, Wizengamot trekked to World Cup III in 2009 in Middlebury Vermont, the birthplace of Muggle Quidditch. Wizengamot made a second appearance in New York City in 2010's World Cup IV, where the team placed 44th out of 70 teams. This past fall, they voyaged to New York City again to place 22nd out of nearly 100 of the world's best teams in World Cup V, finishing higher than any other team in the Virginia Quidditch League.

Both on and off the pitch, the team strives to foster an enviroment of community, creativity and cooperation, in the light of the mission of the IQA. In addition to the regular fall and spring seasons, the team also participates in multiple tournaments across the region.

Wizengamot is a proud member of the Virginia Quidditch League, and a recognized participant in the Mid-Atlantic Region.
